Si parte dall’ingresso della Grotta di Seiano in via Coroglio. Lungo i suoi 770m di percorso, ne sarà spiegata la storia, le tecniche di scavo e le varie vicissitudini che ne hanno caratterizzato l’esistenza attraverso i secoli. Superata la grotta si giungerà al Parco Archeologico del Pausilypon dove si potrà ammirare ciò che resta della lussuosa villa di Pollione che si estende dal promontorio che domina la splendida baia di Trentaremi fino a mare. Dopo aver visitato l’area del Teatro e dell’Odeion, attraverso un sentiero, fiancheggiato dalla tipica vegetazione mediterranea si giungerà ad un belvedere da cui di potrà ammirare il paesaggio dominato dagli Isolotti della Gaiola e dallo Scoglio di Virgilio. Le guide accompagneranno il visitatore alla scoperta dei luoghi fornendo lungo il cammino informazioni storico-archeologiche, geologico-vulcanologiche e floro-faunistiche sull’area.
It starts from the entrance of the Grotta di Seiano In Discesa Coroglio. You will walk into the tunnel that runs through the hill of Posillipo. After the tunnel, you will reach the Pausilypon Archaeological Park where you can admire the remains of the luxurious villa of Publio Vedio Pollio that extends from the promontory to the sea overlooking the beautiful bay of Trentaremi. Here, in the pars publica, you will visit the theater, the odeion and the representative rooms of the ancient Imperial villa of the I Sec B.C.
The itinerary, made in agreement with the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the Municipality of Naples, will wind through the historical-archaeological, geological-volcanological and floro-fauna of the area, in one of the most evocative coastal landscape of the Gulf of Naples.
It is possible to visit the Park with a guided tour, where the guide will illustrate all the historical-archaeological and environmental peculiarities of the site, or with a free accompanied tour that does not include a guide service.
